Peter's Fireworks blow away St Hugh's

St Peter's brought their run of defeats to a stunning end on a wet and windy bonfire night. After conceding 12 goals in their previous 2 games all eyes were on the back four, when really all attention should have been on the Peter's devestating front 4 of Al-talib, Griffiths, Mansell and Pearman. Mansell put the yellow army ahead, and Alaric Smith doubled the lead with a cooly taken penalty from 20 yards out.
Although the scoreline suggests Peter's cruised to an easy win Hugh's provided stiff resistance and threatened on a number of occasions. However, in Griffiths and Al-talib Peter's posses a frightening partnership and they added the next 3 goals between them.
With Tomlins producing a performance of Mascherano proportions and a back four marshelled by Smith and Ogborn, Peter's looked assured and composed.
Mansell and Al-talib added 2 goals after a late Hugh's rally, before Griffiths was stretchered off with a foot injury which could rule him out for the visit to Regents Park on Saturday.
This was a performance that sent out a clear message to the rest of the division that Peter's will be no walkovers, a fact cemented by Mansell's 2nd goal, the team's 10th goal in 2 games.
St Peter's go into the game against Regents Park brimming with confidence, and searching for their 1st clean sheet of the season.
